Southampton Township School District
Building a Tradition of Excellence

Mrs. Sharon Roseboro

Sharon’s commitment to education and advocacy spans more than 25 years. Her journey began through her involvement in her children’s schools, when she volunteered at a local PTA meeting. She had no idea that attending a single meeting would ignite a lifelong passion for advocating on behalf of children and families.

Since that first role with the Southampton Township PTA, Sharon has held numerous leadership positions at every level of the organization. Locally, she has served as President of the Southampton PTA and President of the Seneca Parent Group. At the county level, she served as President of the Burlington County Council PTA. Her leadership continued at the state level, where she served the New Jersey PTA as Region Director (overseeing five counties), Vice President of Advocacy, and Vice President of Leadership Development.

In April 2023, at the 122nd Annual Convention, Sharon was honored to be inducted as the first African American President of the New Jersey State PTA.

Sharon, along with other Southampton parents, also established the Southampton School Booster Club, which supported students participating in sports at Southampton. The Booster Club was responsible for fundraising to build the baseball field, as well as supporting other school district athletic programs. Sharon served as the club’s Vice President for several years.

Throughout her PTA and advocacy career, Sharon has received numerous awards, including a Proclamation from The Honorable Senator Jean Stanfield, the Seneca Volunteer of the Year Award, the National PTA Lifetime Achievement Award, and the New Jersey State Lifetime Award, which was presented by the Southampton Township PTA.

Professionally, Sharon brings more than 30 years of federal government experience, having worked for multiple agencies in the areas of Public Affairs, Budget, Finance and Accounting, and Equal Employment Opportunity. She currently serves as a Human Resource Specialist at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. Sharon earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland.

A proud resident of Southampton for more than 25 years, Sharon lives with her husband of 34 years, Charles. Together, they have four children—Deborah, Rachel, Nathan, and Caleb—all of whom graduated from Southampton Township Schools and Seneca High School.
