Southampton Township School District
Building a Tradition of Excellence

Mrs Megan Geibel

Megan Geibel serves as Superintendent of the Southampton Township School District, bringing more than 25 years of experience in public education in Burlington County. Her career has included roles as a special education teacher, assistant principal, principal, and superintendent, providing her with a broad perspective on teaching, learning, school leadership, and district operations.

Prior to joining Southampton, Ms. Geibel served as Principal of the Peter Muschal School and MacFarland Intermediate School in the Bordentown Regional School District. Earlier in her career, she spent thirteen years in the Pemberton Township School District, where she served as a special education teacher at the elementary and middle school levels and later as Assistant Principal of Marcus Newcomb Middle School.

Since becoming Superintendent of Southampton Township Schools, Ms. Geibel has focused on strengthening student achievement, expanding educational opportunities, supporting staff, and ensuring that the district's facilities and programs continue to meet the evolving needs of its students and community. Under her leadership, the district has expanded its preschool program, strengthened its focus on early literacy and mathematics, enhanced professional learning and instructional supports, and advanced major facility improvements.

Her tenure has also included the completion of significant projects made possible through the community-supported referendum, including the Russell R. Hann Humanities Annex and the new Southampton Warriors Athletic Complex. These projects reflect a broader commitment to providing students with high-quality learning environments while creating resources that can serve the entire Southampton community.

Ms. Geibel's connection to Southampton began long before becoming Superintendent. Her first experience as an educator was as a student teacher in the Southampton Township School District in 1999. The welcoming environment she experienced and the partnership she observed among the schools, families, and community left a lasting impression and helped shape her philosophy as an educational leader.

Returning to Southampton as Superintendent brought her career full circle. She continues to believe that the greatest opportunities for students are created when educators, families, the Board of Education, and the community work together toward a common purpose.

Ms. Geibel earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Rowan University and her master's degree from the University of Phoenix and holds New Jersey Principal and School Administrator certifications.

A longtime Burlington County resident, Ms. Geibel and her husband, David, have three children. She is proud to lead the district where her career in education first began and remains committed to raising the bar for Southampton's students, staff, schools, and community.
